PRESENTERS:

Mr. Thompson is a visionary and customer centric leader with over 20-plus years of experience building highly successful businesses within the insurance, technology and travel industries. Prior to joining ISB in 2013, Mr. Thompson was at the helm of a major Canadian company whose innovative, 1:1 marketing technology solutions were embraced by Fortune 100 companies to foster better customer relationships and improved client profitability. Before that, he had been the North American Vice President of a leading global travel company where he drove record growth and created the largest wholly-owned consumer travel business in North America. Michael attained his ELP designation from the Carlson School of Business at the University of Minnesota as well as holds a degree in Tourism. In addition to his career accomplishments, Mr. Thompson volunteers and supports several charities, serves on multiple boards and enjoys his family which includes three children…all in University at the same time!

Mr. D’Souza is a seasoned, results-producing leader with experience steering and directing all aspects of investigations, security processes and risk management protocols. He has extensive international skills through working, travelling and living in North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North Africa. He spent eight years with the Toronto Police Service, the majority of which, he was involved in an undercover capacity dealing with major, large-scale investigations. He led several cases to successful conclusions through every level of the court system in Canada. Most recently, Mr. D’Souza led an elite team of investigators at Target positioned across the country, to resolve complex internal and external market, provincial and national investigations, including but not limited to organized crime, significant fraud and counterfeit incidents. In addition to working for large multi-national organizations, Mr. D’Souza also spent time consulting on regulatory requirements and laws, as they apply to business, ensuring compliance across a wide cross-section of financial, retail and commercial sectors. Mr. D’Souza holds a MBA degree from Columbia Southern, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He is accredited as a Forensics Investigator and has been formally trained in Mobile Surveillance, Workplace Violence Detection and Prevention, Major Case Management, Interviewing and Interrogation, Drug Interdiction and Investigation, Anti-Terrorism and Anarchist Detection, and Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED). Mr. D’Souza maintains active memberships in the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), the Canadian Crime Stoppers Association, the National Intelligence Academy (NIA), Global Police Detectives, the National Sheriff’s Association and the Association for Crime Scene Reconstruction (ACSR).
